Often times a scheduled field trip was replaced by an in class film due to a bus driver strike or sudden ice storm. Roughly spliced and discolored film from an unknown land and culture would be exhibited. These educational films, though thorough, never felt connected to their subject matter. Perhaps it was because their sources were preexisting and originally captured events totally unrelated to the particular topic. View QuickTime 22.1MB or vimeo HD View Stills |

Field Trip Series: Hong Kong 68. Audio Track: "Cubby Hole" Impactist. All footage is original and was captured entirely on location in Hong Kong. Film was exposed and processed in 1968, then transferred present day. After telecine, selected frames numbering over 1400 were printed using high quality inks and papers. These prints were then manipulated by hand using custom processes involving various solvents and tools. These new sequences were then scanned back into a digital format. All content and audio created by Kelly Meador and Daniel Elwing. |
